Member Spotlight

Kristal is a licensed CPA at Ketel Thorstenson, LLP. She has worked there for three years and is preparing to go into her fourth tax season with Ketel. She prepares tax returns for individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts. In addition, Kristal is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She loves to teach people how to operate QuickBooks more efficiently and help with the day to day questions that her clients have. She loves what she does and it is only trumped by her love of her family.

Kristal is also very passionate about Women in leadership positions. She is always looking for opportunities to improve herself and women in business. She draws inspiration from strong women leaders and is a recent graduate of SD CEO Women in Leadership series. She plans to continue moving forward in her career and is excited about the possibilities ahead.

In addition to her work at Ketel Thorstenson, LLP, she volunteers at various organizations around the community. A few of the organizations she has helped support in the last few years are as follows: First United Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher, Rushmore Hockey Association as an assistant coach, Boys Scouts of America with Pack 16 as the Popcorn Kernel and as an assistant den leader, and as treasurer elect and treasurer of our very own Women’s Networking of Rapid City. She loves to be involved in the community and tries to always help out where she can. If she sees a problem she can fix then she finds a way to fix it.

Kristal is married to the love of her life, Austin, and together they have two very smart, active boys that keep them on their toes and she wouldn’t have it any other way! Her family loves to be outside four-wheeling, hiking, gardening, and recently started hunting with the boys. When not with her family outside she loves a good book or series, funny movies, and has recently learned how to knit! She is always trying to learn something new, especially when it is also productive! When not at work you can find Kristal running her kids around or at home enjoying the countryside where she lives.
