Member Spotlight

I am a travel consultant for AAA. I actually fell into the travel industry 34 years ago. At the time I was selling shoes at Haggerty’s. Sales clerks could float to other departments, if necessary, but there was no one who could help if the travel agency got busy. I decided to go in and just learn how to give airline schedules and prices so the other agents could concentrate on the tour and cruise packages. Well, one of the agents left and the rest, as they say, is history! I haven’t been able to travel as much as I wanted so there are times when I travel vicariously through my clients!

My father spent his career in the Air Force and we were transferred to Ellsworth when I was just a baby. We were an unusual military family because we were never transferred...no one wanted to come here to replace Dad at his post, so we stayed. I have 2 older brothers and 1 younger one. My oldest brother, Bill, lives here and works at the new Walmart. My next brother, John, also lives here and works when he can at construction and odd jobs. My youngest brother, Steve, lives in Wisconsin and works for Kimberly Clark. He is married to Mindy and is dad to Genevieve, who is 11 going on 25. I also have 2 grown nephews, Greg and Jeremy, who are Bill’s sons. Both are married and Jeremy and his wife Ashley have a 2 year old, Jaxson. He’s a little spitfire. I am happily single!

I enjoy going to the Symphony and have season tickets. I also enjoy working crossword puzzles. Keeps my brain sharp. Of course, I like to travel!
